On 26 April, Malta’s training providers attended a public forum organised by EuroMedITI at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in St Julian’s.
EuroMedITI is an initiative of The Malta Council for Science and Technology and aims to empower Malta as an outstanding technology and innovation platform for business-driven services in training and applied research and development, including the incubation and dissemination of these services in the Mediterranean Region. EuroMedITI is being positioned to appeal directly to industries searching for a Mediterranean location hub to execute applied research and development to access the emerging Mediterranean market.
Damian Xuereb, EuroMedITI programme manager, explained how the event was targeted at raising awareness amongst training providers, with the objective of engaging partners for the provision of training on technology and innovation amongst European and Mediterranean Businesses and Academic & Research Entities, including National Governments.
Claude Wehenkel, the President of CRP Henri Tudor, a leading research centre in Luxembourg, attended the forum and gave a presentation. CRP Henri Tudor has partnered with EuroMedITI to share its experience in the field. Training provider partners presently being sought by EuroMedITI will provide regional training for:
Entrepreneurship and Innovation & Project Management;
Cultural Awareness, Marketing Management and Partnership Building;
Science and Industry as a curriculum subject in specialised courses and summer schools.
Such training will target the development, customisation and deployment of innovative technologies in sectors that have a special relevance to the Euro-Mediterranean Region.
