A man was yesterday given a suspended sentence after he pleaded guilty to attempting to seriously injure a woman and her baby son.
Julian Genovese, 45, from San Gwann pleaded guilty to attempting to seriously injure Giovanna Genovese and her 18-month-old son in San Gwann on 12 June 2005 at 12.30pm. He also pleaded guilty to assaulting the mother and baby, along with Lydon Genovese and Lyzanne Genovese.
The court, presided over by magistrate Giovanni Grixti, took into account the accused’s guilty plea and imposed a 13-month jail term suspended for one year. Police inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted.
