Things You want to know about ‘L-Isfida’

Malta Independent Saturday, 20 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

As expected, response to Net TV’s L-isfida has been great with applications pouring in and the programme’s hot line kept very busy.

Claudette Pace answers some of the most frequently asked questions:

Q How old do I have to be to take part in the programme?

A Applicants must not be younger than 16 years and not older than 28 years on Saturday 27 May.

Q I had applied for the first edition of L-iSfida but did not make it through the auditions. Can I apply again?

A YES. All those who applied for the first edition of L-iSfida or any other similar competition but did not make it to the final stage can apply again. Three years have passed since the first edition and people change and mature. There were many talented students who applied and auditioned but were not chosen because they had a bad day on the day of their audition. Some had not made the right choice of song or monologue to present to the judges. We would love to give them a second chance.

Q What is expected out of the students during auditions?

A Auditions are not the same for all disciplines and the teachers judging will always be free to ask students to do any kind of improvisation or simply talk to them about anything under the sun. However, as a general rule, actors should prepare a monologue (a speech for a single actor/actress), singers should prepare a good quality backing track (music only) to be able to sing to it LIVE and dancers should prepare a solo piece. In all cases these performances should be not longer than 2 minutes.

All those interested in applying for L-iSfida must go to Net TV from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm to collect the application and rules and regulations. ALL applications must be handed in at Net TV on Saturday 27 May from 10am to 4pm.

L-iSfida is produced by Cliché Media & Entertainment. For further information please call 7941-4345.
