Skola Helen Keller, a school that caters for students with sensory impairment (visual impairment, hearing impairment and deaf blind), was recently accredited as an ECDL testing centre.
This is a great achievement in the special needs area since it enables students with special needs to sit for the ECDL exams.
This year, the Department of Technology in Education has set up a new section (ICT Support Unit Special Needs) with the aim of providing support in methodology and ICT implementation within the Curriculum for students with special needs.
The Department of Technology in Education gave all the necessary support, both technical and human, to enable the school to reach its aims. A projector was also donated to the school to follow better the ECDL lessons being carried out at school.
