The Nafra Ensemble directed by Ruben Zahra is presenting contemporary Maltese folk music in Seven Suns Seven Moons as part of the Malta Arts Festival – Summer 2006. The performance will take place on Sunday 20th August 2006 at the Old Opera House, Valletta, at 9.00pm.

Seven Suns Seven Moons is a spectacular musical journey through a variety of styles that exhibit music virtuosity and entertainment. Apart from the Nafra, the production is enhanced by the brass band virtuosi of the Versatile Ensemble and the Harmonica Orchestra of Ponte de Sor from Portugal. The concert will feature folk roots, classical, brass extravaganza, ballads and explosive rock numbers. For this concert Nafra has been extended to a larger ensemble of musicians and there will also be a couple of guest appearances: Eleanor Cassar and Walter Micallef.

The Seven Suns Seven Moons performance is part of the Malta Arts Festival – Summer 2006, which is organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts in collaboration with the Ministry for Tourism and Culture. The Arts Festival is sponsored by HSBC Bank Malta plc, The Valletta Local Council, Bank of Valletta plc and The Westin Dragonara Resort.
