Malta Independent Sunday, 14 January 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

The winners of the first BOV Prize in Drama are Donna Attard, Anna Micallef and Clare Fenech. The BOV Prize in Drama was established this year, thanks to the support that Bank of Valletta extends to the Masquerade Theatre Company and the Masquerade Theatre Arts School.

The prize is awarded to the Masquerade student who achieves the highest mark in the Trinity Guildhall solo examination in Drama. This year, three students from Masquerade who sat for these examinations obtained the highest mark and shared the prize.

The certificates together with a cash prize were presented to the three winning students at BOV Centre by Michael Galea, head of PR, Communication and Corporate Branding at Bank of Valletta in the presence of Anthony Bezzina, director of the Masquerade Theatre Arts School.

Congratulating the winners, Mr Galea said, “We are delighted to extend our support to Masquerade and to work closely with it by instituting the BOV Prize in Drama. We hope this prize will encourage drama students to excel in their artistic studies.” Mr. Galea added that the bank’s support of Masquerade and the institution of this prize underline both the bank’s commitment to support arts and culture as well as its efforts to promote outstanding talent.

Anthony Bezzina also congratulated Donna Attard, Anna Micallef and Clare Fenech for achieving the highest mark in the Trinity Guildhall examinations this year. He said the BOV Prize in Drama was an excellent initiative that helped motivate the students by rewarding their commitment, dedication and persistence leading to the excellent results achieved.
