Vodka, or rather the video for Morena’s song at the Eurovision last year, was nominated for the third annual esctoday.com awards, which are currently being held.
Both in 2006 and 2007, the awards went to the videos of female soloists: in 2006, Greece won the prize for Anna Vissi’s Everything while Hungary won the award last year for Magdi Rúzsa’s Unsubstantial blues.
The following countries are nominated this year:
Russia for Believe; Ukraine for Shady lady; Iceland for This is my life; France for Divine; Malta for Vodka
Malta illustrated the Russian theme of its entry Vodka by making a spy film out of its preview video. In the plot, Morena has to find a secret password, which is of course Vodka.
Lasting more than five minutes, it was the longest preview video of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Malta finished second in this category last year.
