Hilton Malta is proud to announce that two of its Bar Team Members, Damian Muscat and Joe Xuereb, placed first and second respectively in the Malta National Cocktail Competition. This is organised annually by the Maltese Bartenders Guild which was founded in 1974 and became affiliated with the International Bartenders Association (IBA) in 1976.

The competition took place recently at the Mellieha Bay Hotel where Damian and Joe faced 18 of Malta’s finest cocktail makers. In the end it was Damian Muscat’s creation, the Moulin Rouge, which was victorious while Joe Xuereb’s Pacific Blue was voted as the second favourite.

The Malta National Cocktail Competition is the first leg of the World Cocktail Competition and by winning, Hilton Malta’s Damian Muscat will now be competing against the best international cocktail makers at the World Cup. This will be held in Poland this November at the Hilton Warsaw.

This is the second year running that the Malta National Cocktail Competition was won by a Hilton Malta Bar Team Member.
