Carnival will be coming to Valletta on Monday, and for the second year in a row Parliament has been cancelled due to the disturbance it will cause.

Speaker Anglu Farrugia told the House Business Committee that the carnival floats will pass right by Parliament, which will lead to a disturbance during the scheduled plenary sitting as well as causing parking problems for members.

Government whip Godfrey Farrugia suggested that the sitting be cancelled, a suggestion that was happily accepted by the Opposition.
