Libyan jailed two years for stealing from apartment, ordered to pay damages to victims

A 48-year-old Libyan man today was sentenced to two years in prison and was ordered to pay €4,000 in damages to the couple whose house he had broken into.

Fisel Mofth Abusina adtmitted to having stolen cash and jewellery from a St Paul’s Bay apartment on 5 October. He was also charged with relapsing.

Taking the early guilty plea into account, Magistrate Joe Mifsud, jailed the man for two years and ordered him to pay damages to the couple. The money has to be paid within a year.
