A 26-year-old Italian woman suffered serious injuries yesterday when she jumped into the sea at St Peter’s Pool in Marsaxlokk.

The police said they were informed about the case at around 8.15pm but the incident had taken place shortly after 7pm.

The woman was assisted by members of the Civil Protection Department and was taken to Mater De Hospital by ambulance.

She is not in danger of dying.

The woman is the third person to be injured while diving into the sea at St Peter’s Pool in recent days.
