Hate speech: Alfred Grixti lashes out at Archbishop, says he is part of ‘coalition of confusion’

The CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services, Alfred Grixti, has hit out at Archbishop Charles Scicluna, saying that the head of the Church in Malta is part of the ‘coalition of confusion.’

This comes after Archbishop Scicluna, in comments to Times of Malta, said character assassination and attempts at intimidation have no place in a democracy.

The Archbishop’s comments were sought after former GWU boss Tony Zarb, earlier this week launched several Facebook rants against German MEP and member of the EP’s PANA committee Werner Langen and PN MEPs David Casa and Roberta Metsola. Branding the two MEPs as traitors, he also urged people to give them a traitor’s welcome on their arrival back in Malta.

Clearly taking Zarb’s side, Alfred Grixti said in a Facebook post that, if the Archbishop wants to be credible and coherent he should “call those bad losers who are trying to damage our country in the European Parliament by the name they deserve – traitors - before condemning our friend Tony Zarb.”

Grixti added: “You should condemn, without any twisting of words, all those who spew hatred and poison against anyone who is not a Nationalist through supposed investigative writing on the internet. Until you start doing so you have no religious, spiritual or moral authority to condemn anyone because what you are doing clearly shows that you are part of the coalition of confusion that only criticizes the Labour Party and its supporters. Now we can better understand the conspiracy to get rid of your predecessor.”
