Parliamentary Secretary for Active Ageing Anthony Agius Decelis inaugurated the new offices from which the Department for Active Ageing and Community Care will operate.

This department has a very important role, Agius Decelis said. It offers services to thousands of elderly persons through 21 community services, and the management of around 2,200 beds in a number of residential homes - both public and private sector.

The new offices, a government statement read, will house around 170 employees. The Department employs around 700 people in total.

Director of the Department Patrick Vella said that the transition from the old building to this modern one was an important step to increase efficiency and improve coordination within the department.
