248 new Covid-19 cases found as vaccine doses administered exceeds 100,000 mark

248 new cases of Covid-19 were reported by authorities on Tuesday as the number of vaccine doses that have been administered so far has exceeded 100,000.

An 88-year-old man meanwhile passed away at his private residence while Covid-positive, making him the 335th victim of the pandemic in Malta.

390 people meanwhile have recovered, taking the number of active cases down to 3,035.

4,470 swab tests were administered on Monday – a record number – which takes the total number of swab tests up to 733,474 so far.

101,776 vaccine doses have been administered so far, while 34,181 people have received both doses of the vaccine.

Malta has had 24,847 cases of the virus. 21,477 of those have recovered, while 335 have died.
