Over 12,000 enthusiastic attendees gathered at the iconic Granaries in Floriana on Friday, 5 July, for the spectacular event, BBC Concert Orchestra presents "Queens of Soul."
The evening was a resounding success, featuring an unforgettable night of music and celebration, the MTA said in a statement.
Returning to Malta for a fifth year, BBC Radio 2 and the world-famous BBC Concert Orchestra delivered an unforgettable night of music and celebration. The evening featured a stellar lineup of 70 talented musicians and stunning vocalists, including the incredible Marisha Wallace, Vanessa Haynes, and Gloria Onitiri. Kicking off the event was local singer Destiny, who performed diverse numbers from her repertoire.
The concert was a non-stop party, celebrating the multi-million selling hits of the legendary Tina Turner and the iconic Queens of Soul Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin. Audiences were treated to a vibrant and dynamic performance, singing and dancing along to timeless classics such as "River Deep Mountain High," "One Moment in Time," "We Don’t Need Another Hero," "Goldeneye," "I’m Every Woman," "I Will Always Love You," "Respect," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," and "What’s Love Got To Do With It."
The show reached its crescendo with a memorable rendition of Tina Turner’s "Simply The Best," bringing the entire audience to their feet in a unified display of joy and admiration.
This year's event once again demonstrated Malta's capacity to host world-class cultural events, reinforcing its reputation as a premier destination for music lovers and tourists alike.
