A new SiGMA Group office building has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Abela, the Office of the Prime Minister said on Wednesday.
The OPM referred to the inauguration of the new office building as a “step forward for the gaming industry in Malta”. Prime Minister Abela, along with Economy Minister Silvio Schembri, inaugurated the new SiGMA Group building following what the OPM described as substantial growth that the company has experienced over the past few years.
The OPM added that this investment confirms the leading role which Malta plays in the iGaming and international conferences sectors.
It stated that SiGMA Group is comprised of MedTech World, Ikigai Ventures, iGaming Academy, and Wicked Games. It continued that the business originally started from a small office in Malta and has now grown into an international organisation with over 250 employees in several countries. The OPM continued that just this year, SiGMA is expected to host seven major events, including SiGMA Euro-Med in September, which is set to take place at the Malta Mediterranean Hub in Marsa.
Prime Minister Abela spoke of the importance of the new office building for both SiGMA and the Maltese economy. “Today, we are not only witnessing the new offices of SiGMA, but we are also celebrating an economic success that reflects the ambition and vision of our country. The iGaming industry remains one of Malta’s economic pillars, and through sound regulation, technological innovation, and excellent talent, we will continue to strengthen our position as a leading hub in the digital gaming sector,” he said.
SiGMA Group founder Eman Pulis spoke of how the organisation will be extending its presence with new offices in India and Serbia. He continued that next year, strategic developments would be made in Cyprus, Manila, and São Paulo. He commented that this will strengthen the company’s global connectivity and further foster cultural integration between the countries from which they operate.
Pulis said that over the next decade, SiGMA will be entering its most ambitious phase of growth. He stated that the organisation is planning to extend its presence to more cities in the United States, as well as Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. He added that it will be organising more events while also opening new offices, including in Las Vegas. Pulis remarked that the goal is to be among the top three major leaders in the field on a global level, “and to be proud to represent Malta as a leading center in this sector”.
The OPM said that this investment not only strengthens SiGMA’s presence in Malta, but also demonstrates the potential of the international conference industry. It continued that the government is already supporting this growth by preparing plans for a conference centre, which it added will further strengthen Malta’s tourism and economic sector with an emphasis on quality.
The OPM concluded that the inauguration of SiGMA’s new offices is more than an infrastructural project. It said that it is a major step forward for Malta to remain at the forefront of the iGaming industry and in international business connectivity. It added that the Government will remain committed to supporting such initiatives that bring more investment, quality jobs, and sustainable growth to the country.
