Ordination Of new archbishop

The Episcopal ordination of the new archbishop Paul Cremona will take place on Friday 26 January 2007 at 6.30pm at St John’s Co-Cathedral.

A procession will be held before the ordination ceremony, starting from the Dominican Friar Convent in Valletta and ending at St John’s Co-Cathedral. Archbishop Joseph Mercieca will preside over the ordination ceremony.

A thanksgiving Mass will be held on Friday, 19 January at St John’s Co-Cathedral to commemorate the years that Mgr Mercieca served as archbishop.

A prayer vigil will be held on the eve of Mgr Cremona’s ordination on Thursday, 25 January.

Mgr Cremona had a meeting with Mgr Mercieca, Bishop Annetto Depasquale and priests who are involved with the Curia on Monday. Next week, he will leave for a private visit to Rome.
