Glen Vella won the jury award at the popular Golden Stag festival held in Brasov Romania. This event is considered as the 2nd largest musical festival after the Eurovision. He was participating with his new single All I am composed by Paul Giordimaina with lyrics by Fleur Balzan.
This festival was held last week over five nights with three semi finals followed by the final. Glen made it through to the finals together with eight other participants from the 25 who were participating. Throughout the week in Brasov, Glen was considered a favourite and was even nicknamed the “Maltese Michael Jackson.”
During the presentation Glen was awarded the jury prize by one of the judges who went on to mention that he is very honoured to be giving this award to such a wonderful voice. Other prizes went to Norway (public vote and bronze award), Romania (silver award) and the Golden Stag golden award which went to Antonino from Italy, the 2005 winner of Amici.
Glen thanked his family and the team travelling with him, including the composer and author of his song and Sandro Zammit.
Malta won the Golden Stag Grand Prix in 2004 with a song written by Paul Giordimaina and Fleur Balzan, and sung by Eleanor Cassar.
